The recent extra-judicial killings and human rights abuses by Special Anti Robbery Squad popularly called; SARS, has drawn the attention of Nigerians from all walks of life.
The latest is coming from Non Governmental Organisation on the need to end SARS. Speaking to journalists and concerned stakeholders during a press conference on Friday in Abuja, the National Coordinator, Citizens Action for Good Governance, Nazir Galadanchi called on the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu to reform SARS and rid the squad of bad eggs.
Galadanchi also enjoined Nigerians to help assist the Nigerian Police in achieving a reformed SARS and keeping the country safe.
Recall, recently the Nigerian Senate has ordered the arrest and prosecution of operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad who were involved in the recent killings of innocent Nigerians across the country while asking the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to establish a special unit that will constantly investigate and monitor the conduct of SARS operatives.
