President Muhamadu Buhari has written the Nigerian Senate, for the consideration for the appointment of professor Adeolu Akande as Chairman of the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) and Uche Uwonde as member of the Commission.
Other letter from Mr President also seeks the recognition of the interim management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) till the forensic audit of the accounts and activities of the Commission which he ordered earlier in 2019 is completed.
The President in a letter which was read on the floor of the Senate upon resumption by President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, asked the lawmakers to recognize the NDDC Interim Management Committee (IMC) named by the Minister of Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio.
The board, which was screened by the Senate on October 30, 2019, has not been inaugurated by the President, a situation that has generated series of controversies from many stakeholders and groups in the Niger Delta region.
Buhari in the letter, said the IMC of the commission would function until the forensic audit of the commission is completed. He approved that the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission be recomposed and inaugurated after the forensic audit of the organisation.
The President also sought the confirmation of Captain Musa Nuhu as Director General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority(NCAA) and Kingsley Obiora as Deputy Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
