The Federal Government has disclosed plans to review the Nigerian Legion Acts as part of effort to improve the welfare of it’s Veterans to meet the current needs inline with international best practices.

The Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (Retired) disclosed this in Abuja during a Ministerial Press Briefing to commemorate the 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration.

Magashi said the roles of the Nigerian Military can not be over emphasized in the protection of the nation’s territorial integrity and also ensuring national peace and development strives.

Adding that the Public and Private sector initiatives will be harnessed to cater for families of fallen heroes who have paid the supreme sacrifices in forstalling peace across the country.

January 15 every year is set aside as Nigerian Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration and also a day to honour it’s fallen heroes who laid their lives for peace.
