The need to review policies and framework of the Value Added Services (VAS) sector was subject for discourse  at the Value Added Services Stakeholder’s Forum organised by the Nigerian Communications Commission in Lagos. 
The Commission sought the views of key players in the Industry with the aim of addressing various challenges ranging from forced subscription, undue deduction amongst other factors affecting the Value Added Services sector.
 Engineer Bako Wakil, Director Network Integrity of the Commission while speaking on the importance of Value Added Services Called on VAS Providers to make the experience worthwhile for Consumers.
Speaking from the enforcement point of view, Mr Efosa Idehen, Director Enforcement and Monitoring, NCC, while giving the positive and negative point of view of Value Added Services says NCC being a consumer centric organisation will not allow the VAS Providers inconvenient Telecom Subscribers with forced services.
National Coordinator WASPAN, Chijoke Eze
spoke on the rebirth of VAS in Nigeria, the challenges faced in the Sector and the way forward.
With this convergence of the Regulator and players of the industry it is expected that new policies will be put in place which will foster ways to better protect, balance and reconcile both the stakeholders’ and Consumer interests.
