Healthy Competition they say gives room for improvement and growth especially in businesses where other counterparts offer same product. Owing to this fact, the Nation’s Telecom Regulator, says it has enabled a level playing field for all Mobile Network Operators and Stakeholders whereby Consumers get to benefit as a result of the array of offer the Service Providers churn out to attract subscribers.
Speaking at the Information Communication Technology and Telecoms (ICTEL) Expo organized by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) held in Lagos. The Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Professor Umar Danbatta, represented by the Director Consumer Affairs Bureau, Mrs Felicia Onwegbuchulam  assured Consumers of quality Service from their Operators, advising that if they are not satisfied with the services of a certain network, they can switch to other networks while retaining their numbers through the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) provided by the NCC.

Speaking about the theme of the event, “Developing Efficiency and Competitiveness in the Digital Age” the EVC representative said the topic resonates well with the Commission, as NCC is intensely focused on bringing efficient, qualitative and affordable ICT platforms within the reach of every Nigerian, whether individual or corporate.

She further emphasized that the EVC’S 8Point Agenda, Government’s Economic Recovery and Growth plan (ERGP) and ICT roadmap to drive synergies which could expand opportunities for disruptive technology innovation and national competitiveness is focused on bridging the digital divide in concerned areas.
Attesting to the Commission’s contributions towards a digital economy, the Honourable Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Osun State, Engineer Oluremi Omowaiye said the NCC has helped the State to facilitate a 3digit toll free short code to help the Osun State residence call them in case of emergency or when need be.
 Stakeholders present also spoke on the growth in the Information Communication Technology (ICT) industry and how it has revolutionised businesses in the Country.

The Commission also had its booth where Consumers go for enquiry and were attended to promptly by the Department of Consumer Affairs Bureau (NCC).

The ICTEL Expo, 2018 provided visibility to sweeping trends and innovations and also served as a credible platform to advance the opportunities and linkages in ICT.
