The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare says he is fully in support of the return of National Sports Commission, urging the National Assembly to give the bill a favourable consideration in view of its importance to the country’s sports development.

Speaking at the Public Hearing at the National Assembly on Thursday on the bill seeking to establish the Federal Sports University of Nigeria, Nkalagu, Ebonyi State, and National Sports Commission(NSC), Dare said the establishment of the institution would contribute immensely to Nigeria’s earnings from sports.

Chairman of the committee, Senator Obinna Ogba in his remark stated the eventual establishment of the would be a highly specialized institution that would develop Nigerian youths in various sporting endeavors.

In his opening remark President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan who was represented by the Minority Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Philips Aduda said the presence of the university and National Sports Commission would encourage the development of all aspects of sports.

Other critical stakeholders in sports expressed their supports for the establishment of Federal Sports University of Nigeria and the National Sports Commission (NSC).
