The official commissioning of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC)’s Emergency Communications Centre (ECC) by the Minister of Communications and Digital Econony, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami is ongoing in Imo State.
Amongst the Minister’s entourage are; the Chairman, NCC Board of Commissionners, Prof. Adeolu Akande; Executive Vice Chairman, NCC; Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta; Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Abdullahi and Member, NCC Board of Commissioners, Chief Uche Onwude, among other Senior Management and staff of the Commission.
The ECC project provides opportunity for Nigerians to dial 112 toll-free National Emergency Number to get help in case of any emergencies from appropriate response agencies both at federal and state levels.
The ECC project is essentially to ehnance security of lives and property in the country in line in with President Mumahamdu Buhari’s national agenda to improve security of lives and property for the citizens.
The delegation first paid a visit to the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma in his office before heading to the venue of the commissioning of the ECC project.
