As the Muslims celebrate the end of 30 days Ramadan fasting, the Senator representing Ekiti Central, Mr. Opeyemi Bamidele has enjoined Nigerians to embrace value reorientation for  radical transformation of the nation from its present abysmal state.
Senator Bamidele said the 30 days of Ramadan fasting can only manifest positivities and elicit radical development , if the  citizens can reform their personal dispositions to material acquisition and shun corruption of any kind.


The Chairman, Senate Committee on Judiciary , Human Rights and Legal Matters , saluted Muslims adherents for the huge sacrifices they have made during the Ramadan period, advising that these should be made to reflect  changes in the habits of the Nigerian citizens to halt all evils rocking the Nigerian foundation.
This was contained in his congratulatory message to Muslims in Ado Ekiti on Friday on the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.


The federal Lawmaker said there was a need for all Nigerians to shun ill-gotten wealth accummulation that has created inequality and class differences  in the system as well  as wide gap between the rich and the poor.
“Time has come for us to collectively rout the  cankerworm of corruption that has become a widespread culture stifling the economy and asphyxiating  less privileged citizens  .
“We must work towards national unity, shun ethno- religious sentiments, eschew  acts of sabotage,  drug peddling, child trafficking and other habits constituting local and international embarrasment  to our citizens and dimming their opportunities to excel at the global scene”.
Bamidele appauded the Muslims for their enormous contributions in terms of prayer supplications to the survival of the country, describing these as commendable. 


“All over the world, Nigeria is respected for its religious and evangelistic posture, but we need national rebranding in terms of value reorientation for this to manifest greatness that we deserve.
“That this year’s Ramadan falls within the time the of  Covid 19  pandemic ravaging the globe was divine. It signposted that God despite our iniquities still offered  us the opportunity to seek his face during  this trying times.


“That is why it was expedient for our Muslim brothers who passed through the rigour of  fasting and prayers accompanied with painful sacrifices and strong manifestations of love to continue these holy  lives to save Nigeria from this precarious situation”.
