Creative industry in Nigeria has began to grow in leaps and bonds thanks to the private sector who has started looking at the industry for collaboration in other to grow the industry. Multitalented and Nigerian international award winning Artiste, Dapo Oyebanji popularly known as DBANJ is One of many who have chosen to give back to rising and upcoming creative talents in Nigeria with his initiative known as the CREAM PLATFORM which acronym C.R.E.A.M stands for: CREATIVE, REALITY, ENTERTAINMENT, ARTS and MUSIC.
The cream platform provides creative minds the opportunity to win among the following recording a standard song, shooting standard video, collaboration with artiste of their choice (music or video), talent showcase, talent branding, promotion and marketing (showbiz), enterpreneurship grants, educational scholarship, sports trials, etc.
In its quarterly draw that took place at Federal Palace hotels on 30th April, the Koko master reaffirm his belief in creative industry and urge the youth to make use of the platform so that they can showcase their talents and be discovered. The winner of the quarterly draw, the 16 years old Berry with EP “Oil dey my head” won #2million and the Koko master promised that he would also w get the right support and exposure that will take him to the next level.
Berry in his Response said that he was excited, happy to be part of Cream platform and narrated how the whole process started before he was announced the overall winner.
DBANJ also concluded that the sum of 10million naira will be invested in the winner to promote his songs, shoot top notch video plus a management company that will manage the Artiste.
The Artiste also gets 3 months mentorship. Some of the stakeholders at the draw commended the effort of DBANJ to give platforms to young talent in Nigeria to excel. Cream platform is supported by heritage Bank and other like minds in Nigeria. Some of the notable Artistes on the Cream Platform include Wande Coal, Harrysong and ice Prince.
