The Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Umar Danbatta, has applauded the directive given by President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday in Abuja for Ministries, Departments and Agencies to comply with ongoing transition of all government operations to digital platforms that will enhance efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery, and promote more inter-agency synergy.
The EVC while addressing participants at the 12th eNigeria Conference organised by the Nigerian Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), stated that he is hopeful that the outcome will help galvanise both public and private sector interests in deepening the digital transformation process, and also boost home-grown innovations and unlock the digital economy we all desire.
Professor Danbatta further applauded the spate of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) use in Nigeria and its contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) which is currently at 13.86 percent of the GDP.
