President Muhammadu Buhari has written the Senate for the reappointed Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta for a second term of five years as the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
TnTv learnt the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, disclosed this at plenary on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, when he read President Buhari’s letter of request for the screening and confirmation of Prof. Danbatta as EVC/CEO of NCC for a second term.
The Letter Reads;
“Dear Senate President,
I am pleased to present the confirmation of the Senate on the confirmation of Professor Umar Garba Danbatta as the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communication Commission for a Second term of Five (5) Years.
It is my hope that the Senate will confirm the nominee in the usual expeditious manner.
President Mohammadu Buhari”
The appointment of Prof. Umar Danbatta is in effort to consolidate the gains made in the telecommunications sector in line with the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy, President Muhammadu Buhari approved the reappointment of Professor Umar Garba Danbatta as the Executive Vice Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission for a second year term.
