Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, an All Progressives Congress(APC) chieftain and representative of Ekiti Central Senatorial District, has expressed appreciation to the APC and his constituents for keeping faith in his ability to be able to give effective representation at the Senate.
The Chairman Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters said the best political empowerment he had ever got was his political victories to the National Assembly in 2011 and 2019, which he accepted he got through the huge love and trust his constituents have in him in spite of highly pervaded mutual suspicion between the leaders and the led.
In his message of appreciation to his party, APC and constituents for what he described as overwhelming show of love and affection on the occasion of his 57th birthday on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, the Federal Lawmaker, said he would be eternally grateful to his constituents for entrusting him with leadership that has launched him to national reckoning in the politics of the nation.
Bamidele further stated that he has not allowed the ecstasy of the present and perks of office to becloud his sense of reasoning that leadership comes with huge prices, which include sacrifice, respect, accessibility, love, generosity etc , promising to continually imbibe these traits for him to live up to the status of being called a worthy leader.
The Ekiti Central representative stated that he has found his party, APC as a veritable vehicle that can transform the lives of Nigerians, saying he neither quivered nor faltered in his trust for APC to bring the desirous change with the policy direction of President Muhammadu Buhari at the Federal and Governor Kayode Fayemi for Ekiti people at the state level.
He said he was not oblivious of that lucid fact that he was not necessarily the best when it comes to intelligence, astuteness, brilliance for political contestation in Ekiti Central , but was privileged to be so honoured and given the leeway to serve, which “I opine should not be abused”.
“I believe that as a Senator, several destinies have been entrusted in my hands that would either be enhanced or marred by my actions and inactions. I am very cognisant of this and I have always been measuring my actions cautiously to leverage favourably on the goodwill I have with the people, so that their expectations in me can be met.
“My trust in God has always been a strength. The goodwill among the people, my backbone; and commitment to APC, my propelling force. With the trio, I believe I was destined to make a mark in politics and etch my name in gold.
“I want to thank Almighty God for giving me the grace to live this long. I also appreciate my Party Leaders at all levels as well as my constituents for being my destiny helpers in my long sojourn as a politician” He prayed that God would bless
One and all and while heaven would celebrate them as they have chosen to acknowledge and reach out to him even when he had chosen to be quiet about his birthday anniversary commemoration this year.
